I despise the idea of film, TV, literary, and music critics. How dare people think they’re entitled to judge the worth of art for others. And the fact that people actually value these opinions above their own or limit themselves because of it angers me. A critic’s only usefulness is in making basic observations of technique and content in my opinion.

People use critics’ opinions to see what they may like. They try to find those with similar tastes, because then they won’t spend hundreds of dollars on stuff they may not like. I think that’s the concept these days.
